San Francisco
Even though I grew up only an hour away from San Francisco, I never truly understood the culture and atmosphere. Only through day trips with family and friends, tech conferences, adventures did I begin to embrace the city's charm.
As I meet with people who have lived in the city for several years, they always mention how ever-changing the atmosphere is. New shops and popups are always opening everywhere — the same streets are not the same the next year. Every downtown has its own atmosphere, and walking from one block to another may change it completely.
Going to the city is my favorite way to enjoy time with friends — having a bonfire on Ocean's Beach, swinging over incredible views on Billy Goat Hill, or driving through the tall trees in the Presidio. I find there's very few things that the city doesn't have to offer.
