The 16th avenue steps are pretty in pictures, but breathtaking when in front of you. Each section of the steps has a unique theme, but the entire staircase flows together to create one cohesive piece of art. It’s a lot of exercise to reach the top, but the reward is the watching the city fall below you as you climb higher.
Across the street, you will see another hill with stairs. Take the stairs up and you’ll reach Grand View Park. This has an amazing 360-degree view of the city, which is astounding if you’re lucky enough to be there on a clear day. There’s a small trail that goes around the hill, where you can see almost all of San Francisco. It can get windy and the trails are a little bit narrow, but that’s part of the fun!
