Pike Place Market
For a lazy Saturday, I woke at noon and walked over to Pike Place. I met one of my friends at Pike Place Chowder. For the entire half an hour wait, we kept praying that it would be worth it. We were relieved when we got our food — the original clam chowder, seafood bisque and lobster rolls were incredible. We took some sourdough bread to go for some snacks later.
We then walked through the market to browse the goods of the merchant stands. Many of them gave plenty of free samples — we tried many unique things, like spicy jelly. One time when walking on the sides of the walkway, a merchant handed us a huge slice of peach. It was delicious, and we got sucked in as he continued to give us samples of strawberries, cherries, and dried mangoes. There was another stand where we stood in front of a bowl of bread and tried at least thirty different dipping sauces from a rotating dolly.
After trying five flavors of kombucha, dried strawberries, and ten honeys and jams, we visited the first ever Starbucks. This was another thirty-minute wait. Was it worth it? Definitely not — but its a must for someone who lived only five minutes away! Then we met my friend's roommate, and we continued to stroll the area and take pictures.
After we went to Serious Pie, which was overpriced for the thinnest pizza of my life. I didn't understand the hype — I guess it's about the Seattle experience.
