Seattle

Summer 2019

Poo Poo Point

We had originally planned to visit Mt. Rainier, but Seattle's weather didn't cooperate, as it was snowing in late May. Instead, we went to Poo Poo Point, a hiking trail in Issaquah. When first reading it in the group chat I thought the name was a joke. Turns out it's a real place.

Poo Poo Point isn't too far from Seattle and the drive was nice. Finding a parking spot was difficult because it was Memorial Day weekend, but we managed to find an almost-empty parking lot across the street that only cost $5.

We meant to hike the High School Trail, but we ended up on the Chirico Trail because we didn't pay attention to where we were going. It's a shorter but steeper trail, which turned out to be pretty hard. The view from the top was nice but not the best that Seattle has to offer. Still, it was relaxing to enjoy our surroundings and eat our squished Subway sandwiches. Oh, and some of us pee peed at Poo Poo point :)

The hike down was easier but tough on my knees and ankles. Along the way, we saw so many cute dogs, from tiny ones to giant huskies.
