Our original plan was to go to Mt. Rainier, but Seattle's weather told us no as it was snowing at the end of May. Instead, we went to a hiking point in Issaquah called Poo Poo Point. The first time I heard about it, I thought it was a joke. Turns out it exists.
It’s not too far from Seattle and the drive was nice. Finding a parking spot was pretty difficult given that it was Memorial weekend. Luckily, there was a parking lot across the street that was near empty and was only $5 to park.
We meant to hike on the High School Trail, but we blindly took the route from the parking lot which led us straight to the Chirico Trail. It’s a shorter but much steeper trail, which turned out to be pretty difficult. The view from the top was nice but not incredible – not one of the best views that Seattle has to offer. It was still relaxing to enjoy our surroundings while eating our squished Subway sandwiches. Oh, and some of us pee peed at Poo Poo point :)
The hike down was much easier but pretty tough on my knees and ankles. Along the way there were so many cute dogs, from tiny ones to giant huskies. It was surprising to see so many people bring their dogs hiking, as I don't see it much in California.
