Zion National Park
Spring 2026
Day 1
We reached the park in the late morning and rented water shoes and walking sticks for the Narrows. We had hoped to use e-bikes to reach the trailhead, but there were not enough available, so we took the park shuttle instead.
We spent the afternoon hiking through the river between the canyon walls. Progress was slow over the uneven rocks and through the current, and we turned around before going as far as we had planned. By the end, our feet were soaked and tired, so we stopped near Zion Lodge to dry out before leaving the park.
Day 2
We woke up around 5:30am and reached the visitor center shortly after sunrise. The shuttle line was already long, and we narrowly missed the second bus before getting on the next one.
We spent the morning hiking Angels Landing. The trail climbed steadily before reaching the exposed chains section, where the narrow path and steep drop-offs made the final stretch much more intense. There were also chipmunks everywhere along the route.
We finished the hike around 11:30am and returned to the visitor center. After the previous day's river hike, Angels Landing was a very different ending to a short trip through Zion.
